On Sunday June 10 in Argol, the Living Museum of the old trades offers an animation around the baking of the old pancakes. It will take place in the “Petite Maison”, the first habitation of the farm of Kerampran, which was a family farm; It is also the first building on entering the museum.
There is a “pancake stove”, an architectural feature that has become rare nowadays. Indeed most of the farms of the east of the peninsula of Crozon, possessed such an installation, in which the vivid burning of pine needles in the hearth allows the melt plate on which is spread the dough, to reach quickly the good Temperature. These kinds of masonry stoves are specific to the central Cornouaille.
And of course, after making pancakes, their tasting!
Fifteen volunteers also animate the trades and activities of yesteryear, such as tailpiece, Vannier, carpenter, blacksmith, saboteur, and the trades of the sea, as well as spinning, embroiderer, Weaver, among others.
These pancakes are a success!
The old-fashioned pancake animation will be renewed on Sundays 17 and 24 June and 1 July.
